What book should I buy?

I’ve been asked this question a lot the last few days, with the prospective Stellenbosch book order from SAGA deadline looming (12 books on order so far), and I find it difficult to answer, because I didn’t read any of the traditional beginner books, and my other exposure to Go books has been pretty limited. However, all is not lost. David Carlton maintains an extensive list of book reviews of English Go books, which you can view in a suggested order of reading (i.e. roughly sorted by suggested strength), or grouped by category. He also has a suggested list of books for beginners (with reviews, of course). I’ve added the link to his site, www.gobooks.info, to the Resources section as Info on Go Books.
