SAGA Council decisions

Hi all,

I’m pleased to announce a few decisions taken by the SAGA council:

1. SAGA is accepting the offer to join the South African Go Clubs website
run by Steve Kroon (that’s _this_ website). The official SAGA website will continue to exist,
but the most up-to-date information will be here. (Those familiar with the website will know
that Steve has already been hosting SAGA information – the difference
is that SAGA will now actively be posting its news here as well.)

2. You may be aware that the Western Cape rating system, which has been
providing regional ratings updated on a weekly basis, has now been
extended to include the Johannesburg and Pretoria Clubs, and renamed
the South African Go Clubs (SAGC) Rating System. SAGA has taken a
policy decision to merge the official SAGA ratings with this system, so
that official ratings will soon be available on a weekly basis (watch
this space).

3. SAGA will be creating a new set of internet tournaments, which will be
official events on the South African go calender. Details to be
announced as they become available.

regards,
Konrad

Welcome to the site, SAGA and all SAGA members – hope you find this place useful. Leave comments and suggestions please, and help make this place your own.

I’m curious about the meaning of “SAGA has taken a policy decision to merge the official SAGA ratings with this system”, as I’m updating the page explaining how the SAGC rating system works, including adding a sentence to the “history”. I guess I’ll just exercise patience, see what happens, and update the page when appropriate.
