SAGA AGM feedback

Paul Edwards, outgoing President of the SAGA Council, writes:

The Annual General Meeting of the South African Go Association was successfully concluded on Saturday 10th with all proposed changes to the constitution having been accepted.

I am sure that all members will join me in welcoming the members of the new council. They are Konrad
Scheffler, David Richfield, Julius Paulu, Reinhardt Messershmidt, Victor Chow and Sakkie Buys.

Attached is the Annual Report of the Council. For those who do not take the time to read it, I quote the following paragraph.

“I would also like to extend my support to the newly elected SAGA council. In the last couple of years there has been, especially in the Gauteng region, some negativity expressed about the relevance of SAGA. In my opinion a strong association is essential if Go in South Africa is to expand and flourish. I therefore urge all Go players in South Africa to help that expansion by, in the first instance, becoming members of SAGA and then by becoming actively involved in regional and club development especially. If SAGA is to provide support for the development of Go players in SA it needs first to receive the support of South African Go players.”
