Roseduke qualifies for Internet World Amateur Championships

In the 10th World Amateur Go Championships, hosted by IGS, South Africa’s top-player, Victor “Roseduke” Chow, became one of only two non-Asia-based players to qualify for seeding into the final round of 16. Unfortunately, time zone differences may mean his first round match may not be completed by the deadline next week, which would lead to a double forfeit.

With a 9-0 score in the preliminaries, held from 27 August to September 13, Victor has been seeded third in the final tournament. The other 15 players comprise 12 Japanese, 2 Chinese, and a Canadian 6-dan (unconfirmed), greenhouse.

For more details on the tournament, visit this page on the IGS website.

Never. As numerous club and tournament games have proved, we, at JHB, go down fighting in blood, sweat and curses. Look for a place to resign? Never! We have a proven capacity to take punishment and die without grace, style or class.

  7. Rory says:

Hmmm , somehow after his last visit to joburg steve has picked up this nasty habbit of not resigning – i wonder i we have a traitor in our club >.
