We’d like to first welcome a couple of new players to the ranking system, all at 30kyu. From the UJ Club, we welcome Tranis Berthold, and from Soweto, we welcome Thabang Saka, Lesego Modise, Mojau Mokone, Bongane Hlongwane, Abuti Mohlomi, Tshepo Direro.

The last 2 weeks have seen a large number of games played despite the public holidays. The Soweto Open was also held, and some backlog of Joburg club games were entered. The following rank changes occurred:

Sipho Mampe promoted to 1k (at the Soweto Open)
Chris Welsh promoted to 8k
Willem Joubert promoted to 9k
Ricardo Kaizer promoted to 13k (at the Soweto Open)
Busang Monene promoted twice, to 13k (second promotion at the Soweto Open)
Kabelo Suping promoted to 14k, and demoted back to 15k
Zane Deane promoted to 15k
Wim Conradie promoted to 20k
Kevin Scaife demoted to 21k
William Legae promoted twice, to 23k (second promotion at the Soweto Open)
Iain Lawrie promoted to 25k
Tshepo Mosese promoted twice, to 26k (second promotion at the Soweto Open)
Arnold Wentzel promoted to 27k
Ismael Msimango promoted to 27k
Solomon Mosepedi promoted twice to 27k (second promotion at the Soweto Open)
Abuti Mohlomi promoted three times in three games to 27k (at the Soweto Open)
Tshepo Direro promoted twice to 28k (both at the Soweto Open)
Tranis Berthold promoted to 29k
Bongane Hlongwane promoted to 29k (at the Soweto Open)
