SAGA AGM and Call for Council Nominations

Dear SAGA Members,

The SAGA annual general meeting for 2008 will be held online on the
Kiseido Go Server (KGS) on 6 September, during the lunch break of the SA
3rd quarter internet tournament (expected time: 12h00). All members are
invited to attend.

At this meeting, current council members Sakkie Buys and Konrad Scheffler
will be stepping down, having completed their terms, and will need to be
replaced. There is also a currently vacant position on the council that we
would like to fill. We therefore invite nominations for these three
council positions. Nominations should be sent to me or Ben Gale in writing
(email is acceptable), and has to reach one of us by 26 July at the
latest. Each nomination should be proposed by a member of SAGA, seconded
by a member of SAGA, and agreed to by the nominee, who should also be a
member of SAGA.

Regards,
Konrad Scheffler
President, South African Go Association

Neck and neck

Something I noticed today. Not only are Konrad and Andrew now both 2-dans, but they are on the same index at the moment as well…

Problem #12

Fuseki theory this time:

Why did black play 1 rather than the usual joseki at a or b?

btw, there is a full archive of all these problems on the Cape Town Go Club mailing list, which you can find here
