2009 Cape Town Blitz Announced

This is just to notify players in the Western Cape that we will be holding our annual blitz tournament on Tuesday the 10th of November 2009, at our usual venue of the Touch of Madness. Please make sure you get there before 8pm if you wish to play. There are no entry fees, and the only requirement to play is that you have a stable rank on the SAGA system.

Detailed rules are available, but the basic idea is that the games use absolute time, usually 12 minutes per side. The games will be played with full handicap, including 10 points of komi per handicap stones if the rank difference exceeds 9 stones.

Renew your SAGA membership for 2010

SAGA is pleased to note that general membership fees for 2010 have remained the same as they were in 2009. Scholar fees are also unaffected, while student fees have been increased from R40 to R50. Membership is valid for the 2010 calendar year.

This is a call to all SAGA members to renew their membership for 2010 as soon as possible, and before your memberships expire at the end of 2009. Details for how to renew your membership are available on the SAGA page (see the section: Joining SAGA/renewing your membership).

New members are also welcome to join for 2010 now.
