Please renew your SAGA membership for 2011

This is a call for all SAGA members to renew their membership for 2011 as soon as possible – preferably before 25 January 2011. All membership fees for 2011 have remained unchanged from 2010: R100,00 in general, but R50,00 for full time tertiary students and R20.00 for primary or secondary school pupils. Your renewed membership will be valid for the 2011 calendar year. Due to the delay in the call for renewals and the fixing of the new membership rates for 2011, the 2010 memberships will only expire on 25 January. Details for how to renew your membership are available on the SAGA general information page (see the section: Joining SAGA/renewing your membership).

New members are also welcome to join for 2011 now. Membership is required for participation in the national tournaments co-ordinated by SAGA (the SA Open, SA Closed, and the quarterly internet tournaments on KGS). Also, only members earn credit points to qualify to represent South Africa at various international tournaments. From 2011, members will hopefully also receive the members-only edition of the AGA newsletter, if they wish.

Finally, we are working on updating the SAGA credit points list for 2010. In order to receive credit points for 2010, you need to have been a member in 2010. The list we are using for this purpose is the one at Please check whether your name is listed as a 2010 member on this list, and contact me if you should be listed, but aren’t.
