In praise of Internet Tournaments

The quarterly internet tournament was created in 2006, and has been a remarkably consistent event. At the end of 2012, it has been running for a full seven years, four events a year without fail. Congratulations to the people who created the event all those years ago, thanks to all the event directors, and of course, thanks to all the players for taking part.

The event is not as well attended as back in 2006 – the opening event had 24 participants; however, with about 12 players typically entering each event, it’s still going well.

A catalog of all the results is available on the Results Page.

Some interesting statistics:
Victor Chow is the most winningest player, with 59/60 wins (98%)
Andrew Davies is the most active player, with 42/72 wins (58%). Considering that 28 events means 84 available games, the fact that Andrew has played 72 games shows what an active player he is.

A list of the top players for each year and across the years is available on the Annual Ranking Page.
